Sharp Shooter II
About This Machine
The Sharp Shooter II, released in November 1983 by Game Plan Incorporated, is a four-player solid-state pinball and the sequel to the company's 1979 Sharpshooter. It was designed by Roger Sharpe and Wendell McAdams, with software by Rehman Merchant.
The Sharp Shooter II carries the same American West theme as its predecessor. Gameplay is defined by two flippers, four pop bumpers, one slingshot, stand-up targets, a seven-bank drop target, a spinning target, and a kick-out hole. As with the original, there is no right outlane, making for a distinctive ball-drain layout.
The artwork, found above the flippers signed by Larry Day and Bruce Schafernak, was created by the two artists working under Gordon Morison at Advertising Posters in Chicago; the signature style suggests it came early in both artists' careers. The machine weighs approximately 206 pounds with legs included, and only 600 units were produced, making it considerably rarer than its 1979 predecessor.
