About This Machine

Sea Side is an electro-mechanical (EM) pinball machine designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Art Stenholm, manufactured by D. Gottlieb & Company in December 1967. It was made for export to Italy and is closely related to Gottlieb's Surf Side from the same year; the two games were the first Gottlieb pin games to feature illuminated coin entrance plates. Only 900 units were produced, making it a relatively scarce Gottlieb export title.

Sea Side is an add-a-ball game featuring four flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, six standup targets, and two roto-targets, providing a dynamic gameplay experience built around a cheerful water-sports theme.

Little else is documented about the specific design choices behind Sea Side, but as a low-production export title closely tied to Surf Side, it offers an interesting look at how Gottlieb tailored games for international markets in the late 1960s.
