About This Machine
Roll Over is an electro-mechanical (EM) pinball machine from February 1937, made by Genco Manufacturing Company of Chicago. It was advertised as 46 inches long and 22 inches wide, and used an Electropak transformer.
One of the standout features of Roll Over is its flexible ball count: operators could set the game for 5, 6, or 7 ball play. The playfield centers on seven gobble holes, and a ball that contacts the black rim around each hole scores 100 points.
One surviving example of the game pictured has a large plunger in the coin door not shown in the original Billboard advertisement, though its exact function is unknown today - a small mystery that adds to Roll Over's appeal for collectors of early Genco machines.
