About This Machine

Robo-War, released in 1988 by Premier Technology (under the Gottlieb trade name), is a solid state electronic pinball machine designed by John Trudeau and Jon Norris. Trudeau has said the game was essentially an updated take on Gottlieb's 1978 title Sinbad, reworked with an outer-space theme.

The game's theme is brought to life through its hand-drawn translite, notable for depicting no human figures in its artwork. Key gameplay features include two flippers, three pop bumpers, a ramp, and a mix of drop-target banks - a 4-bank, a 3-bank, a 2-bank, and a single target - along with a kick-out hole and two multiball modes.

Robo-War's varied drop-target layout and multiball modes give it a busier, more complex feel than many of its System 80B-era Gottlieb contemporaries. It remains a solid find for collectors interested in late-1980s Gottlieb output and John Trudeau's design work.
