Request

Request, manufactured by Exhibit Supply Company (ESCO) in December 1938, is a Flipperless electro-mechanical pinball machine with an ice-sailing sports theme, an unusual subject for pinball of this period. The machine offered five balls for five cents, a common and accessible price point for the era.

The Request features 15 passive bumpers, arranged in three colors (red, yellow, and blue) corresponding to backglass lights, which not only add visual appeal but also create a more immersive scoring experience for players. This color-coded arrangement highlights the machine's creative approach to design.

The ice-sailing theme, a relatively rare subject matter in early pinball machines, adds to Request's charm and historical interest. Unfortunately, further information about its designer or any notable events associated with it remain unavailable, leaving room for ongoing research and discovery.
