Quick Draw
About This Machine
Quick Draw is an electro-mechanical pinball machine from June 1975, designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Gordon Morison, produced by D. Gottlieb & Company as a two-player, Western-themed game. Its inventive drop-target mechanism sets it apart within Gottlieb's lineup of the era.
One of the standout aspects of Quick Draw is its drop-target system: hitting all ten targets resets them, but also trips an arm that drops eight yellow targets, leaving only two black targets worth 5,000 points each. Dropping both black targets resets all ten and repeats the yellow-target trip, a pattern that continues for the rest of the ball in play; all ten targets reset again at the start of the next ball. The machine's dual inlanes, two kick-out holes, and four standup targets add further scoring variety, while its half-moon credit window and end-of-ball bonus round out the ruleset.
The Western theme is reflected in a rugged cowboy-themed cabinet and backglass typical of Gottlieb's mid-1970s output. A four-player version of the same game was released the same year as Fast Draw. With 2,767 confirmed units produced, Quick Draw remains a well-regarded entry among Ed Krynski's design credits for Gottlieb.

Dropping both black targets resets all ten targets then again trips the eight yellow ones to leave only the black targets for 5000 points, and this pattern will repeat until the end of the ball in play.
