Paddock
About This Machine
The Paddock, designed by Norm Clark with art by Christian Marche, was manufactured by Williams Electronics in 1969. It's a single-player electromechanical (EM) game with a horse-racing theme, one of 1,952 confirmed units produced.
Gameplay on Paddock is characterized by its dual flippers, five pop bumpers, four slingshots, ten illuminated rollover buttons forming a racetrack pattern in the center playfield, and seven standup targets. The maximum displayed point score of 9,999 points adds an element of strategy and challenge. An add-a-ball version of this game was released the same year as Williams' 'Post Time.'
The Paddock's design features a colorful horse-racing theme typical of sports-themed EM games from the late 1960s. While little specific trivia has been documented about this machine, it stands as a solid representative of Williams' EM output during this era.
