About This Machine

Oh Yeah! (1932) is an early pinball machine from Allswell Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois, one of the many short-lived manufacturers active during pinball's earliest commercial boom. It is a pure mechanical (PM) tabletop/counter game, predating any electrical components or flippers.

In terms of gameplay, Oh Yeah! offered 8 balls for 1 cent, later changed to 7 balls for 1 cent or 10 balls for 5 cents. A nickel-play version was also available from the manufacturer, and detachable wooden legs could be purchased at extra cost. The machine's compact size — measuring 30 1/2 inches long, 15 1/2 inches wide, and 6 1/4 to 8 5/8 inches high — made it well suited to placement on counters in stores and amusement locations.

Little is known about the machine's design, art, or theme beyond its basic specifications, and Allswell Manufacturing itself appears to have operated only briefly in 1932. Oh Yeah! remains an intriguing artifact from the dawn of the coin-operated pinball industry.
