About This Machine

The Motordome, designed by Greg Kmiec and manufactured by Bally in June 1986, is a solid-state electronic pinball machine built around the high-octane spirit of motocross racing. Produced in a run of 2,000 confirmed units, it stands as one of the more distinctive sports-themed machines of Bally's mid-1980s lineup.

The machine boasts an array of features: four flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, six standup targets, two kick-out holes, a spinning target, a drop target, and aerial ramps, along with outlane detour gates on both sides. A standout feature is its skill-level selection, allowing players to choose from three different difficulty levels before launching their first ball.

The Motordome's artwork, by Tony Ramunni, captures the energy of 1980s motorcycle racing with dynamic imagery befitting its theme. With software by Rehman Merchant, the game reflects the technical and artistic style of Bally's pinball output in the mid-1980s.
