About This Machine

Melody, designed by Ed Krynski and manufactured by Gottlieb in October 1967, is an Add-A-Ball electro-mechanical (EM) machine with a music and caroling theme. Only 550 units were produced, making it a fairly scarce addition to any pinball collection.

Melody's gameplay is characterized by its music and caroling theme, with two flippers, four pop bumpers, two slingshots, five standup targets, and four relay kick-out holes. The game uses a wedge-head cabinet and allows for an operator-adjustable minimum of 3, 5, or 8 balls per play, with a maximum displayed score of 9,999 points. Its replay counterpart is Gottlieb's 1967 'Sing Along.'

The artwork on Melody, by Art Stenholm, reflects a festive, caroling-themed design typical of Gottlieb's EM output from this period.
