About This Machine

The Machine: Bride of Pin·bot is a 1991 solid-state pinball machine from Williams Electronics Games, conceived and designed by Python Anghelo with John Trudeau, and featuring artwork by John Youssi and Python Anghelo. As a sequel to the earlier Pin-Bot, it built on that game's fantasy/outer-space/robot theme with an expanded, multilevel playfield. Its layout features an upper-level bagatelle mini-playfield, two elevated chicane lanes with interwoven paths on the right side, and a plunger lane with an elevated skill shot that drops the ball to a kicker feeding the pop bumper area.

The machine's signature visual is a rotating woman's head in the upper playfield that reveals different faces as it turns. The Heartbeat Ramp, the game's center ramp, is a dual-path ramp that diverts the ball to either the right inlane or the plunger lane depending on the ball's path through the mini-playfield, and the game supports 2-ball multiball. Early production games on the Diamond Plate playfield had several small differences in insert color and labeling compared to later runs.

With 8,100 units produced between February and June 1991, Bride of Pin·bot remains a well-regarded and widely collected Williams title, later followed by a licensed conversion kit and Dutch Pinball's 2014 'The Machine: Bride of Pin·bot 2.0.'
