About This Machine

Lucky Ace, produced by Segasa of Spain in 1975, is a licensed version of Williams' 1974 game of the same name, manufactured under license from Williams for the Spanish market. Segasa, which operated from 1972 to 1986, was one of several European companies that built American designs under license during the 1970s, and this single-player electro-mechanical game carries over the cards-and-gambling theme of the Williams original.

The gameplay features mirror its Williams parent: four flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, ten rollover buttons, and eight standup targets provide numerous ways to score. An end-of-ball bonus rewards players with additional points at the end of each ball, and the sound package consists of three chimes and a knocker.

As a Spanish-built edition of a Williams design, Lucky Ace offers collectors an interesting example of how popular American pinball machines reached European players through local licensing arrangements in the mid-1970s.
