Loop the Loop
About This Machine
"Loop the Loop", designed by Ted Zale and manufactured by Bally in 1966, is a classic electromechanical (EM) two-player game with a circus/carnival theme. By the mid-1960s, Bally was a well-established leader in the pinball industry, and Loop the Loop reflects the mature EM design conventions of that era. Approximately 1,055 units were produced, including an add-a-ball version made for the Italian market.
Gameplay on "Loop the Loop" is characterized by its robust electro-mechanical design, featuring two flippers, three mushroom bumpers, and three slingshots that challenge players to navigate the ball through a compact playfield. The addition of a spinning bumper adds an extra layer of difficulty, while a kick-out hole and right-outlane ball-return gate provide opportunities for high-scoring shots. The game's scoring system allows for a maximum displayed point score of 9,999 points.
The machine's theme, centered around the circus and carnival, is reflected in its colorful artwork and distinctive design elements, making it a fun, nostalgic addition to any pinball collection.
