About This Machine

The Lite-A-Line, manufactured by J. H. Keeney and Company Incorporated of Chicago in June 1951, is an electro-mechanical bingo machine for a single player. Keeney, active from 1934 to 1964, was one of several Chicago manufacturers competing in the bingo-machine boom of the early 1950s, and the Lite-A-Line was its entry in the popular multi-card format.

The playfield features seventeen trap holes, and the backglass presents six bingo cards. Balls landing in the numbered trap holes light corresponding numbers on the cards, with the player aiming to complete lines for awards, the core mechanic that defined the bingo genre.

The IPDB notes that the manufacture date was previously listed as June 1952 before being corrected to June 1951. No designer or artist is recorded for the game, but as a six-card Keeney bingo it documents a moment when bingo machines briefly rivaled conventional flipper pinball on location floors.
