Leland (Deluxe Senior)
About This Machine
The Leland (Deluxe Senior), manufactured by Chicago Coin Machine Manufacturing Company in September 1933, is a single-player Pure Mechanical (PM) pinball machine, built under contract by Stoner Mfg. before Chicago Coin began producing its own games in 1934.
Gameplay offers 10 balls for 5 cents, with 29 trap holes and 2 horseshoe diverters. Scoring is enhanced by special colored balls: a red ball counts double and a green ball counts triple. The apron even includes a bubble level, a detail-oriented touch for the era.
The cabinet, advertised as 46 inches long and 23 inches wide, was available in "Iridescent" pastel colors — green, blue, maroon — or natural cedar finish, and the apron identifies it as "The LELAND of the Aristocrat Line." Little else is documented about its designer or theme, but its Stoner-manufactured origin and colorful cabinet options make it a distinctive piece of early Chicago Coin history.
