Lectronamo
About This Machine
The Lectronamo, designed by Mike Kubin and released by Stern Electronics in August 1978, is a notable early solid-state Stern title: it was the first Stern game to feature electronic sound, generated by the SB-100 sound board.
The Lectronamo's fantasy theme is expressed through its playfield of two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, a 5-bank and a 3-bank of drop targets, a spinning target, a kick-out hole, and an upper-left kickback lane.
A rare variant of Lectronamo exists with a narrower cabinet neck (used on at least two known units), where the cabinet is nearly three inches shorter than standard, requiring a narrower neck and a three-bolt backbox instead of the usual four. The reason for this variation, and how many were produced, remains unknown. A total of 2,423 units were produced between August and October 1978.
