Aristocrat L Standard
About This Machine
The Aristocrat L Standard is a rare mechanical pinball machine from Stoner Manufacturing Company of Aurora, Illinois, produced starting in March 1934. As a Pure Mechanical (PM) machine, it predates flippers and electromechanical scoring entirely, relying instead on gravity, pins, and simple mechanical obstacles typical of games from this period. A "Junior Deluxe" version was also produced alongside the standard model.
Detailed information on the Aristocrat L Standard's specific gameplay, artwork, or theme has not survived, which is common for many single-player machines from the early 1930s. This scarcity of documentation makes the machine an intriguing subject for collectors and historians alike.
As a product of one of the early pinball-era manufacturers, the Aristocrat L Standard represents an important artifact from the pre-flipper, pre-electromechanical period of pinball's development.
