About This Machine

The Bali-Hi is a genuinely rare electro-mechanical pinball machine from Bally Manufacturing Corporation, one of the most iconic and influential manufacturers in pinball history. Bally released it to production on September 14, 1970, and only 80 units are confirmed to have been built, making it one of the scarcer Bally flipper games of its era. A special version was also produced for Germany under the same project number.

This four-player game boasts a solid array of features. Its two flippers allow players to manipulate the ball with precision, while four pop bumpers provide a thrilling way to score points quickly. Slingshots, three kick-out holes, and three standup targets contribute to a dynamic gameplay experience, and the layout includes an upper-left kickback lane plus ball return gates at the upper right and right outlane. The maximum displayed score is 99,990 points per player.

Bali-Hi was designed by Ted Zale, one of Bally's most prolific designers of the period, with backglass and playfield artwork by Christian Marche, whose distinctive style graced many Bally games. Its 'World Places' theme, tiny production run, and notable creative team make it an intriguing piece of pinball history and a sought-after find for collectors.
