Justice
About This Machine
The Peo Manufacturing Corporation's Justice (1936) is an electromechanical (EM) pinball machine from a company that operated in Rochester, New York between 1932 and 1936, with this example manufactured in January 1936. It is a single-player machine that predates the introduction of player-controlled flippers, which did not appear in pinball until 1947 -- so play relied instead on the ball's own momentum, gravity, and whatever bumpers and mechanical scoring features Peo built into the playfield.
Because Peo Manufacturing was a small and short-lived company, detailed records of Justice's playfield layout, artwork, or design specifics have not survived, and little is documented about the machine's designer. Its age alone makes it a genuine rarity: pre-1936 pinball machines are scarce today, and any surviving example is a valued find for collectors and historians studying the early, pre-flipper era of the game.
