Bali
About This Machine
The Bally Bali is an electro-mechanical bingo machine from Bally Manufacturing Corporation, model number 1025. While its exact year of production remains unknown, its presence in the world of coin-op history makes it an interesting find for enthusiasts of Bally's bingo line. It was designed by Don Hooker, who worked on a number of Bally's bingo machines.
Like other bingo machines, Bali has no flippers; instead, players shoot balls onto a playfield of numbered holes, trying to complete lines on bingo-style cards displayed in the backglass. Bali offers three cards, accepts up to seven coins per game to unlock additional features and odds, and includes Super Scores and Corners scoring panels, which reward players for completing card corners and hitting boosted score combinations.
Bali was produced by Bally Manufacturing Corporation, the company most closely associated with the bingo machine genre. As such, it provides insight into this distinctive branch of coin-operated game design. While detailed information about this machine is scarce, even the more obscure bingo machines have stories to tell about the era that produced them.
