Jackpot
About This Machine
Jackpot, designed by Norm Clark and released in April 1971 by Williams Electronics, is an electro-mechanical (EM) pinball machine with a Canadian West - Prospecting theme. It is the export version of the same game sold domestically as Gold Rush, with a 1-player variant released as Klondike.
Gameplay features two flippers, five pop bumpers, and three kick-out holes. A distinctive element is the trio of slot-machine-style reels near the top of the playfield, which award points for specific combinations of symbols. With a maximum point score of 99,990 and a replay wheel with a maximum payout of 37, players are encouraged to test their skills and strive for a high score.
The machine's artwork, created by Christian Marche, brings the Canadian wilderness theme to life on the backglass and cabinet; on the backglass, the character's yellow neckerchief bears the initials "N C," a likely reference to designer Norm Clark. With 5,147 confirmed export units produced, Jackpot remains a distinctive piece of early-1970s Williams history for collectors and enthusiasts.
