About This Machine

Hee Haw, manufactured by Chicago Coin Machine Manufacturing Company in March 1973, is a four-player electro-mechanical game designed by John Gore with artwork by Christian Marche. Its music, singing, and dancing theme was probably based on the American television show of the same name, the country music and comedy variety program that ran from 1969 to 1993. Chicago Coin introduced the game at Chicago Dynamic Industries' national distributors meeting held in Chicago on March 30, 1973.

Hee Haw boasts an impressive array of features, including two flippers, three pop bumpers, two slingshots, four rollover buttons, three kick-out holes, three standup targets, a spinning bumper, a left outlane kickback, a right outlane ball return gate, and an up-post between the flippers. The feature wheel in the lower playfield is particularly noteworthy: when the ball lands in any kick-out hole, the player scores whichever feature is lit on the wheel.

With its end-of-ball bonus and generous complement of playfield toys, Hee Haw is a feature-rich example of Chicago Coin's early-1970s output and a fun artifact for collectors and enthusiasts to study and appreciate.
