About This Machine

Bally's Heat Wave, Model 807, is one of pinball's mysteries. Bally's Numerical List of Machines shows that Model 807 had a release-to-production date of February 13, 1967 as a "4 player novelty," a designation Bally used for many of its pinball games. However, no wiring part number is listed, and the game does not appear on the game lists found in Bally parts catalogs, which suggests it may never have actually been produced.

What became of this planned four-player electro-mechanical game is unknown, and no details about its playfield, features, or artwork have surfaced. This Bally title should not be confused with Williams' 1964 'Heat Wave', an entirely different machine. For pinball historians, this entry is less a game to be found than a reminder of how many projects from the industry's past exist only as lines in factory paperwork.
