Gulfstream
About This Machine
Gulfstream is an electro-mechanical pinball machine released by Segasa of Spain in 1974. It is the same game as Williams' 1972 'Gulfstream', produced for the Spanish market during a period when Spanish manufacturers frequently built versions of popular American designs. Like its Williams counterpart, it was convertible between replay and add-a-ball operation, a common accommodation for differing regional regulations.
The single-player game offers classic EM gameplay: two flippers, three pop bumpers, and two slingshots that reward precise play. The layout is complemented by three standup targets and two kick-out holes, providing multiple paths for players to accumulate points, with a maximum displayed score of 199,990 points.
With its lighthearted theme of happiness, recreation, and swimming, the Segasa Gulfstream offers a glimpse into 1970s international pinball manufacturing, and it makes an interesting companion piece to the original Williams release for collectors of Spanish-built games.
