Players cooperate in Yam! Yam!? to navigate maze-like environments while manipulating blocks to reach an exit. Published by Dooyong in 1990, this two-player game challenges you and a partner to strategically push and pull rectangular pieces around the screen, clearing pathways and creating routes toward the goal. The gameplay relies on coordination and planning as both players must work together to overcome obstacles within each level. Originally developed under the name “Wise Guy” by Nihon Maicom Kaihatsu, Yam! Yam!? utilizes a Zilog Z80 processor and an audio chip that produces distinctive sounds during play. With a resolution of 256x224 pixels, the game presents its visuals in a horizontal screen format using a palette of 512 colors. Players control their characters with four-way joysticks and use buttons for actions as they attempt to complete each maze. Though initially unsuccessful during Japanese testing, Dooyong re-released the title in Korea, altering some character designs for its final form. Yam! Yam!? offers a unique blend of puzzle solving and collaborative gameplay that rewards teamwork and spatial reasoning.
