Step into the squared circle with WWF Superstars, a tag-team wrestling game released in 1989 by Technos Japan. Choose from six iconic WWF wrestlers – Hulk Hogan, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, The Big Boss Man, and The Honky Tonk Man – and battle your way through opponents to face formidable tag team champions Andre the Giant and “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. Players control their chosen wrestler using an 8-way joystick and two buttons for punches and kicks, working in tandem with a partner to execute maneuvers and ultimately win matches. Matches unfold as classic wrestling fare, requiring strategic teamwork to overcome opponents and survive signature moves like Andre’s Canadian Backbreaker and Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Dream Sleeperhold – both of which can quickly deplete your life force unless you receive timely assistance from your teammate. A fun visual treat awaits those who progress far enough: a cutscene featuring Miss Elizabeth appears upon winning the tag team titles, while appearances by manager Virgil and announcer “Mean” Gene Okerlund add to the authentic wrestling atmosphere. Hidden amongst the cheering crowd, fans may spot a familiar face – Billy Lee from the Double Dragon series—a playful nod to another popular Technos title. While The Brain Busters were the actual WWF Tag Team Champions at the time of release, and Andre & DiBiase never held those titles, this arcade game delivers an entertaining wrestling experience for two players.
