World Wars (World?)
SNK • 1987
Also known as: Bermuda Triangle

Pilots take to the skies in World Wars, a two-player vertical scrolling shooter released by SNK in 1987. Players maneuver aircraft through increasingly challenging levels, battling enemy planes and aerial defenses with joystick controls and button firing. This version of the game, sometimes referred to as "Bermuda Triangle," presents unique gameplay and visuals distinct from other iterations. The game’s development team included designers Rampty and Tetsuyaki, alongside director Eikichi Kawasaki, utilizing Zilog Z80 processors for both graphics and sound, complemented by Yamaha YM3526 and Y8950 sound chips. The cooperative experience allows two players to work together as they ascend through the perilous skies, facing a constant barrage of opposition. Originally released in Japan during May 1987, World Wars delivers a straightforward yet engaging aerial combat experience for up to two simultaneous players.
