Wonder Momo

Step into the vibrant world of Wonder Momo, a side-scrolling action game released by Namco in 1987. Players take control of Momo, a teen actress battling against the Warudemon Phantom Army across theatrical stages. Using kicks and powerful double kicks, you’ll fight through waves of enemies to reach a boss at the end of each level, unlocking new areas as you progress. A unique gameplay mechanic allows Momo to transform into "Wonder Momo" by collecting a special item. This transformation grants access to devastating attacks including a “Wonder Hoop” throw and the powerful "Wonder Typhoon." The game features distinct levels with themed challenges, ranging from facing monstrous foes to overcoming bizarre obstacles. Wonder Momo supports two players simultaneously, offering cooperative action against Namco's last 8-bit arcade release. A playful nod to classic cinema appears at the start of each session, parodying the MGM logo with Momo herself.
