Wall Street
Century Electronics • 1982

Wall Street is a two-player game released in 1982 by Century Electronics, presenting an unusual combination of gameplay styles. The initial stage has players operating rescue workers tasked with bouncing falling figures into ambulances; these figures represent stock brokers apparently attempting to end their lives. Following this unique opening, the action shifts to a second phase where one player controls a broker who must collect money scattered throughout a town and return it to a designated base while evading tanks that can be shot by the player. The game utilizes Century’s Convertible Video System hardware and offers two-player cooperative play. Each player uses an eight-way joystick for movement, complemented by two buttons for in-game actions. The contrasting stages provide a distinct experience within a single cabinet, moving beyond typical ball and paddle or jump and touch mechanics to deliver something quite different from contemporary arcade fare.
