Video Vince and the Game Factory is a one-player platform game created by Mylstar in 1984. Players guide Video Vince through a series of levels set within what appears to be a factory dedicated to creating games. Gameplay involves running and jumping across platforms, avoiding obstacles, and capturing various creatures encountered along the way. Some of these creatures resemble characters from other popular arcade titles, including one that bears a striking resemblance to Qbert’s snake. The game utilizes an 8-way joystick for movement and two buttons for actions, offering precise control as Vince navigates the challenging environments. Built around an I8086 processor, Video Vince boasts distinctive audio thanks to its combination of DACs, AY8910 sound chips, and a SP0250 chip. The game’s visual presentation features a resolution of 256 x 240 pixels with a palette of sixteen colors. Notably, Video Vince and the Game Factory remains an unreleased prototype, offering a rare glimpse into Mylstar's development process during the early 1980s. Programmed by Chris Brewer, this platformer provides a unique look at what might have been.
