Victorious Nine
Taito • 1984

Victorious Nine is a two-player baseball game released by Taito in 1984. Players control their teams using an eight-way joystick and buttons to manage pitching, batting, and fielding actions on the field. The gameplay focuses on strategic decision-making as you guide your players through each inning, aiming for victory against your opponent. The arcade cabinet utilizes two Zilog Z80 processors for both its main game functions and sound, alongside General Instrument AY8910 and MSM5232 chips along with a DAC to produce audio. While the game’s visuals are simple by modern standards, it provides an engaging experience based on skillful play rather than elaborate graphics. Victorious Nine initially debuted in Japan and has since been ported to various home computer systems including models from Sharp and NEC. Players can enjoy this classic sports title head-to-head, testing their baseball prowess against a friend.
