Konami’s Vendetta, released in 1991, is a four-player fighting game presented in a 2.5D perspective. Players select from a cast of characters and engage in close-quarters combat against opponents, utilizing punches, kicks, and throws to deplete their health bars. The game features an export version intended for distribution outside of Japan, but notably underwent censorship alterations during its release. While sharing lineage with the earlier Japanese title Crime Fighters 2, Vendetta distinguishes itself through revised content aimed at broader international appeal. The Italian-derived title translates to "Revenge," hinting at a narrative centered around retribution and conflict. Don Marshall contributed to the game’s cabinet graphic design. The Asian versions of this arcade release contained elements that were subsequently removed for other markets, reflecting adjustments made to comply with differing cultural sensitivities. Players can experience the fast-paced fighting action in head-to-head or free-for-all battles with up to three other opponents.
