Gameplay

Take to the skies in Varth: Operation Thunderstorm, a cooperative vertical scrolling shooter released by Capcom in 1992. Two players pilot advanced fighter craft against waves of enemy aircraft and fortifications as they work together to complete their mission. The game, originally developed in Japan and released as an export title, runs on Capcom’s CP System hardware. Gameplay involves maneuvering your fighter through increasingly challenging levels, blasting away foes with a variety of weapons while dodging projectiles. Varth: Operation Thunderstorm is part of the Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2, which saw releases for Sony PlayStation 2 consoles in both Australia and Europe in 2007. A handheld version appeared on the Sony PSP as part of Capcom Classics Collection Remixed in 2006. This arcade title shares a lineage with the earlier Japanese release, “Varth - Operation Thunderstorm [B-Board 88622B-3],” and offers a fast-paced aerial combat experience for two players.
