Gameplay

Under Fire (World) places players in the roles of special operatives tasked with confronting a dangerous gang that has seized control of various urban locations. Using light guns for aiming and shooting, two players work together to navigate diverse environments including residential neighborhoods, stores, and even an amusement park, systematically eliminating enemy targets. Successfully rescuing hostages provides health recovery during intense firefights. The game features a variety of weaponry, including the chance to acquire a powerful full-auto machine gun with ample ammunition and no need for reloading, obtainable by either saving hostages or destroying specific objects within each stage. A team of talented developers and voice actors contributed to the game's production, adding character and depth to the action. Originally released in Japan in 1993 (though often displaying a 1993 title screen), Under Fire was created as Taito’s response to Konami's popular Lethal Enforcers, striving for fast-paced, cooperative gameplay and engaging visuals. A limited edition soundtrack album accompanied the game years later, highlighting its memorable music.
