Tecmo World Soccer '96

Tecmo World Soccer '96 delivers fast-paced, two-player soccer action on SNK's Neo-Geo MVS hardware. Representing numerous national teams, players use an eight-way joystick to control their athlete and three buttons to execute short passes, long passes, or shots on goal. Defensive maneuvers include sliding tackles and player selection for strategic interceptions. The game boasts impressive graphics for its time alongside a substantial amount of voice commentary throughout matches. This title is unique within the Tecmo soccer series; it's the only entry developed specifically for the Neo-Geo MVS arcade system, never seeing release on the home console platform. Tecmo World Soccer '96 builds upon earlier games in the series like Tecmo World Cup ‘94 and precedes titles such as Tecmo World Cup ‘98, continuing a lineage of accessible and competitive soccer gameplay designed for head-to-head arcade competition.
