Island Design’s Tut's Tomb challenges players to navigate ancient Egyptian ruins using light guns in this cooperative shooter released in 1996. Two players work together to blast their way through hordes of scarabs, mummies, and other monstrous guardians protecting the pharaoh’s treasures. The game presents a horizontal screen displaying detailed graphics within a 320 x 200 resolution palette of 256 colors, all refreshed at a rate of approximately 69 Hz. Players aim their light guns to target enemies appearing across the tomb's chambers and corridors. A single button on each gun likely serves for firing or activating special actions within the game’s mechanics. The combination of dual players, a lightgun control scheme, and a shooter genre create a unique experience centered around collaborative action. Powered by a TMS34010 main CPU and featuring sound generated by two General Instrument AY8910 chips, Tut's Tomb delivers an immersive arcade adventure that rewards teamwork and skillful aiming.
