Gameplay

Step into the cockpit of Turret Tower – The Enemy Has Arrived, a single-player shooter released in 2001 under license from Namco and developed by Dell Electronics. Players assume the role of a gunner piloting a warbird, tasked with defending against waves of enemy attacks across three escalating levels of difficulty. You control both the turret’s rotation and the aircraft's direction using a joystick, allowing for a full 360-degree range of motion in both. The game offers a selection of six weapons to combat approaching threats; players begin with a mini-gun and grenade launcher, then choose one of four powerful superweapons – two of which become available as you progress through the levels. Successfully completing all three initial levels unlocks a bonus stage. Throughout gameplay, shooting parachutes will award power-ups designed to enhance your homing and firing skills. Turret Tower features a compact, octagon-shaped cabinet design, incorporating safety measures like a door lock, seat belt, and floor mat system that prevents operation if the cabin is not properly secured or occupied by more than one person. The game’s development took four years, with George Dell handling mechanical aspects and Brian Weber overseeing graphics, sound, and overall game design.
