Playtronic SRL • 198?

Truco-Tron presents a single-player adaptation of Truco, a traditional card game originating in Argentina. Using a vertical two-way joystick and a single button for interaction, players face off against an automated opponent in rounds of strategic bluffing and card play. The objective is to outwit the computer by raising or passing bids, carefully managing your hand of cards to achieve victory. The game’s graphics utilize a limited palette of sixteen colors across a horizontal screen resolution of 256 x 192 pixels. Truco-Tron was manufactured by Playtronic SRL and represents an early example of arcade games produced in Argentina. A Motorola M6809 processor drives the gameplay, accompanied by DAC sound chips for audio feedback. With only fifty units originally created, this unique title offers a glimpse into the development of arcade gaming outside of established markets. It stands as a rare artifact from Playtronic SRL's production line and provides an opportunity to experience a classic card game in a novel format.
