Gameplay

Capcom’s Trojan arrived in US arcades in 1986 as an export release, based on the earlier Japanese game Tatakai no Banka. This two-player game combines platforming and fighting elements within a scrolling environment. Players control one of two characters who must battle through various stages, jumping across platforms and engaging enemies with punches and kicks. Gameplay involves navigating levels filled with obstacles and opponents, requiring precise jumps and strategic attacks to progress. The game’s action unfolds continuously as the screen scrolls forward, presenting new challenges and foes. Trojan later appeared on several home consoles, including versions for the Nintendo NES in Europe and as part of Capcom Classics collections for Xbox and PlayStation systems. While its roots lie in a Japanese title, this version represents a distinct entry point into Capcom’s arcade library from the mid-1980s.
