Test your knowledge in this single-player quiz game based on the popular board game, Trivial Pursuit (Young Players Edition). Released in 1984 by Bally/Sente, players answer questions across a range of categories to advance through trivia challenges. Using an eight-way joystick and two buttons for input, you navigate question prompts displayed on a horizontal screen with a resolution of 256 x 240 pixels. The game utilizes a Motorola M6809 processor alongside a Zilog Z80 sound chip, creating both the gameplay experience and its audio elements. Multiple CEM3394 chips contribute to the sound design, producing a variety of tones and effects as you attempt to correctly answer questions covering different subjects geared toward a younger audience. Several editions of this game existed on similar hardware including 'All Star Sports', 'Baby Boomer', 'Think Tank - Genus', 'Genus II' and 'Young Players'. Richard Adam led the adaptation and software design, while Gary Johnson, Bil Maher, and Mark McPhee contributed to the visual presentation. The game’s sound was developed by Richard Green and Gary Levenberg, with Howard Delman and Tian Harter handling the video hardware aspects of its creation. Versions for Sinclair ZX Spectrum computers were later released.
