Gameplay

In Triple Punch, two players work cooperatively to complete a screen filled with squares using a simple four-way joystick. As a carpenter, your goal is to fill in all the outlined areas before obstacles hinder your progress. A variety of antagonists roam the playfield – a gorilla, a ghost, and an eraser—each presenting unique challenges; the eraser removes incomplete squares while the gorilla attempts to impede you. Only bursts of fire cannot be stopped. Each level increases the complexity of the grid, demanding quick reflexes and strategic planning to navigate the increasingly crowded space. Players can dispatch the gorilla and ghost with three punches, earning points for each successful knockout. Careful placement and connections between filled squares yield bonus scoring opportunities – linking two or three simultaneously multiplies your score significantly. Published in 1982 by K.K. International, Triple Punch (also known as “Knock Out!!”) combines simple mechanics with escalating difficulty, offering a uniquely frantic cooperative experience for up to two players.
