Trio The Punch - Never Forget Me... (World)
Data East Corporation • 1989

Trio The Punch - Never Forget Me... is a cooperative platform and fighting game released by Data East in 1989. Players select one of three distinct characters – a brawler, warrior, and ninja – to navigate scrolling stages filled with enemies. Gameplay involves jumping, attacking, and progressing through levels as you work together to defeat the opposition. A unique feature is the random fluctuation of character power after each completed stage, adding an element of unpredictability to subsequent challenges. The game’s design incorporates a quirky sense of humor, evident in its unusual boss encounters – one of which is a surprising homage to the famous Colonel Sanders. Familiar faces also appear for those acquainted with other Data East titles, as Karnov makes an appearance as an enemy within the game's world. Two players can simultaneously participate, coordinating their attacks and abilities to overcome obstacles and defeat foes. Utilizing a Hudson Soft HuC6280 processor alongside multiple sound chips, Trio The Punch delivers vibrant visuals and a distinctive audio experience on its horizontal 256x240 pixel screen. Players control their chosen character using an eight-way joystick and three buttons for attacks and movement.
