Tricky Doc (set 1)
Tecfri • 1987

Step into the lab in Tricky Doc, a cooperative platform game released by Tecfri in 1987. As a slightly unhinged scientist, you must navigate six distinct levels after accidentally unleashing your genetically engineered creations upon the world. Your task is to recapture these escaped beings and restore order before chaos ensues. Gameplay involves precise jumping and strategic movement as you dodge and defend against the creatures attempting to flee. Players utilize an eight-way joystick for control and two buttons: one for jumping, and another for attacking with a spray that can temporarily paralyze enemies. Successfully traversing each level will require skillful use of these abilities to overcome obstacles and capture all the loose genetic experiments. Powered by a Zilog Z80 processor and featuring audio from a YM3812 sound chip, Tricky Doc provides a challenging two-player experience with its scrolling environments and vibrant palette of 1024 colors.
