Trapeze / Trampoline
Exidy / Taito • 1978

In Trapeze, released in 1978 by Exidy and licensed to Taito for distribution in Japan as Trampoline, a single player controls a character suspended from a trapeze bar. The objective is to guide the character across a series of platforms, touching each one to progress through the level. A ball bounces upward from the bottom of the screen; players must time their swings and catches to intercept it, propelling themselves towards the next platform. The gameplay combines elements of classic ball-and-paddle mechanics with a unique jumping element. Successfully catching the ball allows the player to reach higher platforms, while missed catches result in a loss of height. The game steadily increases in difficulty as the platforms move faster and require more precise timing and coordination to navigate. Trapeze/Trampoline offers simple controls and straightforward objectives, providing an engaging challenge for players looking for a test of reflexes and precision.
