Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling Toukon Retsuden 3 Arcade Edition (Japan, TR1/VER.A)

Step into the ring with Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling Toukon Retsuden 3 Arcade Edition, a two-player wrestling game released in Japan by Namco and Tomy in 1997. This arcade version builds upon previous entries in the Toukon Retsuden series, offering a robust roster of professional wrestlers based on New Japan Pro Wrestling. Players choose their favorite grapplers and engage in matches against each other, executing various wrestling moves and maneuvers to pin opponents or force submissions. The game utilizes Namco System 12 hardware, providing detailed graphics and responsive controls for authentic wrestling action. Developed in collaboration with Tomy and Yuke's, Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling Toukon Retsuden 3 aims to recreate the intensity of professional wrestling within an arcade environment. The gameplay emphasizes strategic timing and skillful execution as players compete for victory. A console port was later released for the Sony PlayStation in 1998, bringing this arcade experience to home consoles following its initial December 1997 debut. This title represents the third installment in the Toukon Retsuden series, preceded by two earlier PlayStation releases and followed by a fourth arcade edition in 1999.
