TeddyBoy Blues (315-5115, New Ver.)
Sega • 1985

Navigate a constantly scrolling maze in Sega’s TeddyBoy Blues, a quirky platform and shooter released in 1985. As Teddy Boy, players use a gun to shrink bizarre enemies like ninjas, snails, and hippos before collecting them for bonus points. Failure to quickly retrieve the shrunken foes results in a penalty to your time meter as they disappear off-screen. This unusual mechanic adds an extra layer of challenge to the standard platforming action. The game supports two players cooperatively, allowing friends to tackle the perilous maze together. Interspersed within the main gameplay are brief bonus stages; one lets you test your marksmanship as Teddy Boy, while another casts you as singer Yohko Ishino in a short treasure hunt. The soundtrack prominently features Yohko Ishino’s debut single "Teddy Boy Blues," lending a distinctive musical identity to the experience. TeddyBoy Blues runs on Sega's System 1 hardware and utilizes an eight-way joystick for precise movement and two buttons for actions. Versions of the game later appeared on various Sega consoles, including the Mark III, Master System, and Mega-CD.
