Gameplay

Take command of a futuristic submarine in Sigma’s Submarine, a cooperative horizontal shooter released in 1985. Players navigate their vessel through challenging underwater environments, progressing from an elaborate submerged city to the dark depths of the seabed. The game presents constant threats as enemies attack from all directions – both above and below – demanding skillful maneuvering and precise targeting. The gameplay centers on destroying enemy machines while avoiding obstacles within each level. Along the way, players can rescue captive divers and collect fuel to ensure they reach the end of each stage. Two players can team up for a shared experience, coordinating their efforts to overcome increasingly difficult challenges. Submarine utilizes dual Zilog Z80 processors and sound hardware from Yamaha, delivering a vibrant visual presentation with a palette of over one thousand colors across a horizontal screen resolution of 224 x 256 pixels. The controls are simple: a four-way joystick for movement and two buttons for firing.
