Gameplay

Represent your nation on the blacktop in Street Hoop (also known as Street Slam and Dunk Dream), a fast-paced two-player basketball game from Data East released in 1994. Choose from ten different countries and compete in three-on-three matches, utilizing simple controls to execute offensive plays and defensive maneuvers. Players use an eight-way joystick and two buttons to shoot, dunk, pass the ball, block shots, or attempt steals. The game runs on SNK’s Neo-Geo MVS hardware, providing crisp graphics and responsive gameplay during head-to-head competition. While initially released in Japan, Street Hoop found its way to arcades across North America under different titles. A limited edition soundtrack was later produced alongside another Data East title, Gun Hard. A sequel, Dunk Dream ‘95, followed in 1996 and built upon the foundation of this original basketball arcade experience. The game has since been ported to several platforms including Neo-Geo AES and CD consoles, as well as appearing on Nintendo’s Wii Virtual Console.
