Star Trigon is a single-player puzzle game released by Namco in 2002. Utilizing Namco’s System 10 hardware, players manipulate falling geometric shapes to create complete lines and clear the playfield. The gameplay revolves around strategically rotating these shapes – triangles primarily – before they lock into place at the bottom of the screen. A single button controls this rotation, demanding precision and planning as the pace increases. The objective is straightforward: prevent the stack of shapes from reaching the top of the display. Successful line clears award points, while miscalculations can lead to a game over. Star Trigon’s minimalist aesthetic and simple control scheme belie an engaging core loop that rewards skillful spatial reasoning. A computer port, "Namco All Stars: Star Trigon," appeared for PC in 2009, alongside an Apple App Store release later the same year.
