Gameplay

Take command of the Starship Enterprise in this thrilling 1982 space combat simulator from Sega. As captain, your mission is to defend the United Federation of Planets against a growing number of threats. The game’s unique display splits the screen into three distinct sections: a top-down scanner view showing surrounding space and enemy positions, a viewer presenting a pseudo-3D perspective out of the Enterprise's front window, and a status panel tracking your shields, torpedoes, and warp energy. Using a rotary dial for maneuvering and dedicated buttons to fire phasers, launch photon torpedoes, or engage warp speed, you’ll navigate through increasingly challenging sectors while managing your ship’s resources and avoiding collisions. Expect encounters with Klingon cruisers that evolve in behavior as the game progresses, along with Anti-Matter Saucers and the elusive Nomad, each requiring different strategies to defeat.
